CNN poll sees tighter Senate race
Republican Senate candidate Pat Toomey is holding on to a five-point lead in his race against Democrat Joe Sestak, according to a new poll.
The CNN/Time survey released Wednesday indicated a closer race than some other polls, with the results just outside the margin of error. Toomey wins 49 percent of likely voters in the survey, compared to 44 for Sestak. Among all registered voters, the race is tied.

Corbett enters home stretch with big cash advantage
Republican gubernatorial candidate Tom Corbett entered the final seven weeks before Election Day sporting a big cash advantage against his Democratic rival, a financial edge he built in large part by avoiding a competitive primary.
Corbett had more than $7.6 million in the bank as of Sept. 13, according to state campaign finance data filed Tuesday. Democrat Dan Onorato had less than half that amount: $3.3 million.

Republican Senate candidate Pat Toomey holds an eight-point edge over Democratic opponent Joe Sestak, according to a new poll.
The Fox News survey released Tuesday found Toomey winning 48 percent of the vote, compared to 40 percent for Sestak. Poll: Independents fuel 15-point edge for Corbett
Strength with independents, high favorability ratings and voter dissatisfaction with the direction of the state have propelled Republican Tom Corbett to a 15-point lead in the race to be Pennsylvania’s next governor, according to a new poll.

Republican candidates in Pennsylvania were using President Obama’s visit to Philadelphia Monday as a useful pitch to supporters for more campaign cash.
