I’m back
Hi readers!
My apologies for being away for so long—I had some family matters to attend to which took much more of my time and attention than I’d anticipated.
But I’m back!
So, did you miss me?
And I pose that question only because I am beginning to rethink my answer to those Bushies who have been asking the same about our potential longing for ol’ W.
Don’t worry—I haven’t crossed over to the dark…

President Obama made his first campaign stop for Democratic Senate candidate Joe Sestak Monday, headlining a Philadelphia fundraiser that was expected to net a big cash haul six weeks before Election Day.
Speaking during a smaller-dollar general reception at the Pennsylvania Convention Center before a minimum $1,000-per-head dinner, Obama echoed the argument Sestak has made for months—that the two-term congressman an outsider not beholden to rigid ideology.
“The choice in this election could not be…

LEFTOVERS: Florida loophole debate, fighting to the death (tax), golf in the 6th
The so-called Florida loophole is once again all the political rage.
In case you’re not versed in the intricacies of interstate gun policy, the loophole exists because the Sunshine State issues out-of-state residents permits to carry concealed weapons through its Department of Agriculture, even if those folks couldn’t get concealed-carry permits in their home state. Democratic gubernatorial candidate Dan Onorato has been forcefully calling for Republican rival Tom Corbett to use his power as state…

Poll: Toomey up 9, undecideds up for grabs

Sestak: Toomey ‘out of touch with the mainstream’
Democratic Senate candidate Joe Sestak argued Monday that GOP opponent Pat Toomey is out of step with Americans on a host of economic and social issues.

With President Obama set to headline a fundraiser for Sestak…

Labor’s mailers target Toomey, House hopefuls
The next round of organized labor’s big direct-mail campaign is zeroing in on Republican Senate candidate Pat Toomey and five GOP House candidates.
The AFL-CIO mailers, obtained by pa2010.com ahead of their formal release Monday morning, are part of pThe direct-mailers, part of a campaign that includes more than 2 million mail pieces that will hit homes across the country, hew to the familiar Democratic attack lines this cycle. The mailer targeting Toomey says he “profited while working families struggled.” The pieces targeting 8th District Republican Mike Fitzpatrick and 10th District Republican Tom Marino depict an elderly union couple saying: “We worked hard. We did everything we were supposed to do. Now Mike Fitzpatrick wants to change the rules.”/p
pOther mailers targeting Mike Kelly in the 3rd District, Pat Toomey in the 7th District and Tim Burns in the 12th District accuse the GOP nominees of pledging to protect tax breaks for companies that ship jobs overseas. The attack refers to the Americans for Tax Reform pledge that a plethora of candidates have signed. It doesn’t actually pledge those candidates to protect such tax breaks as a rule, but the conservative group has said that some measures which would end the tax breaks would also violate the pledge./p
