h6If you look at the data you will see that the GOP has a sizeable lead in all aspects of Social Media (2 years ago it was the opposite!) BUT, if you add Barack Obama’s Social Network Eco-system, the numbers are more even. What does this imply or say about the war going on in Social Networking? who’s on top and how is it integrating with campaigns in 2010? 2012?/h6

pI need to respond to Ben Smith’s story on Politico yesterday. He has abr /
picture of one campaign brochure that features Joe Sestak lessbr /
prominently than Dan Onorato. From this one campaign leaflet, he jumpsbr /
to the erroneous conclusion that Sestak is not loved by the Democraticbr /
party.br /
As someone who has stopped by almost daily the Philadelphia office ofbr /
Organizing for America, Obama’s get the vote operation, I can tell youbr /
that the Democratic Party is working v just as hard to elect Sestak tobr /
the Senate as they are to elect Onorato as Governor. Every one of thebr /
thousands phone calls made there every day mentions both candidates.br /
In addition, I have seen all types of configurations on the campaignbr /
literature and some favor Sestak. Each is designed with a targetbr /
audience in mind./p

Meehan up four points in new poll
Republican Pat Meehan is holding a narrow four-point lead over Democrat Bryan Lentz just weeks before Election Day, in the latest indication that the 7th Congressional District remains fiercely competitive.
In a Monmouth University poll released Thursday, Meehan garners 49 percent of likely voters, compared to 45 percent for Lentz. Just seven percent of voters are undecided or prefer another candidate. The survey was the first public poll taken of the open-seat race in suburban…

LEFTOVERS: Rendell says get over it, Kanjo & reporters, Meehan talks corruption
Give Ed Rendell this much: The lame-duck governor is nothing if not the fighter-conscience of the Democratic Party.
Rendell this week joined the Obama administration in telling liberals to buck up before the midterm elections, and leave their malaise at the door.
“This isn’t about President Obama,” Rendell said late Monday on MSNBC. “It’s about whether the Democratic Party, not perfect, but certainly bent on trying to preserve theories in government and progressive practices, is…

Avoiding Schneller, Meehan skips a debate
Citing the presence of a conservative third-party candidate, Republican Pat Meehan has backed out of the last scheduled debate in the competitive 7th Congressional District.
Meehan’s campaign decided to skip the Oct. 14 debate hosted by the League of Women Voters after the group said it would allow independent Jim Schneller to participate. Schneller has not been involved in previous debates between Meehan and Democrat Bryan Lentz. full story

Meehan’s best quarter leaves him with $1.5M
Republican Pat Meehan’s congressional campaign said Monday that it raised more than $725,000 in the third quarter of the year, marking his best fundraising period to date and potentially giving him a key financial edge in the closing days before the election.
Meehan, who has been the GOP’s fundraising star in Pennsylvania this cycle, said he finished September with more than $1.5 million in the bank. Assuming he begins airing TV ads soon, that number…

Powerful local union backs Meehan
One of the most politically potent labor unions in Delaware County is going with the Republican in the competitive 7th District House race.
The United Aerospace Workers Local 1069, which represents local Boeing workers, endorsed GOP nominee Pat Meehan during an event in Eddystone Thursday. The union often endorses both Democrats and Republicans, but it was nonetheless a significant get for Meehan during a cycle in which organized labor has more often backed Democratic nominee…

Lentz hit for using a state car
Democratic congressional candidate Bryan Lentz is taking some heat from his opponent for joining many other state lawmakers in using a taxpayer funded car—seemingly in violation of a 2006 campaign pledge.
Republican Pat Meehan’s campaign criticized Lentz on the matter this week, noting that Lentz made Republican Tom Gannon’s use of a taxpayer funded car an issue before narrowly unseating him in a 2006 run for state House. At the time, Lentz said he wouldn’t…

LEFTOVERS: Labor mail, Dukakis for Trivedi, Lentz mocks Meehan’s debate skills
Organized labor continues to play big in the direct-mail game ahead of November.
The state’s AFL-CIO rolled out its latest mail pieces Monday, the third week in a row it’s hitting up homes across Pennsylvania. The new mail pieces, targeting Senate candidate Pat Toomey and six GOP House candidates, paint Republican hopefuls as friends of Wall Street who want to outsource American jobs.
They err on at least one count, the same count that has…

Lentz & Meehan agree on Israel—not much else
HAVERTOWN—It was a relatively tame display of two candidates expressing their solidarity with and support for Israel and its its security. But as the focus shifted to economic policy, the debate between Democrat Bryan Lentz and Pat Meehan turned heated.
By the time the hour was up Tuesday night, the two 7th District rivals had laid out starkly contrasting visions. And with Lentz aggressively looking to keep Meehan on the defensive for much of the…
