State awash in campaign spending as DSCC releases new ad blasting Toomey

The scary Chinese are back …

pThe DSCC released a new ad for Sestak titled “a href="http://www.dscc.org/corning" onclick="javascript:_gaq.push(['_trackEvent','outbound-article','http://www.dscc.org']);return TrackClick("http%3A%2F%2Fwww.dscc.org%2Fcorning','Corning')" target="_blank"Corning/a” to run in the state during the last week before the election. The ad highlights a College Township, Centre County, plant owned by Corning, N.Y., based Corning Inc. In 2003, the plant shut down and the jobs sent to China. The ad then attacks Toomey for his votes granting China special trade status as well as corporate tax breaks that facilitated the outsourcing. The ad points out that the workers were directed to disassemble the machines before they, too, were shipped overseas./p

New anti-Toomey ad plays the Bush card

Democrats are using a new TV ad to paint Republican Senate candidate Pat Toomey as a staunch ally of former President George W. Bush.

The latest 30-second spot from the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee opens: “Are you ready to turn back the clock? Pat Toomey is.” The ad goes on to note that Toomey supported Bush on tax, budget and Social Security policies. It also features a clip of Toomey calling Bush a “fabulous president.”…
