Republicans continue to hold healthy leads in Pennsylvania’s statewide races just a month before Election Day, according to a new poll.

Republican Senate candidate Pat Toomey said Tuesday that he raised $3.8 million during the third quarter of the year, besting his Democratic opponent’s haul by more than half-a-million bucks.

LEFTOVERS: Rendell says get over it, Kanjo & reporters, Meehan talks corruption
Give Ed Rendell this much: The lame-duck governor is nothing if not the fighter-conscience of the Democratic Party.
Rendell this week joined the Obama administration in telling liberals to buck up before the midterm elections, and leave their malaise at the door.
“This isn’t about President Obama,” Rendell said late Monday on MSNBC. “It’s about whether the Democratic Party, not perfect, but certainly bent on trying to preserve theories in government and progressive practices, is…

In latest Rothfus ad, kids talk allowance and debt

The latest ad from Republican Keith Rothfus is a quirky, 30-second spot in which children complain that their weekly allowances can’t possibly pay down the growing federal debt.
“Jason Altmire must think I’m made of money,” one kid says in the ad.
Another says “we’re $13 trillion in debt,” before another finally laments, “my allowance can’t cover that.”
The race between Rothfus and Altmire is currently No. 9 on the pa2010.com

Citing the presence of a conservative third-party candidate, Republican Pat Meehan has backed out of the last scheduled debate in the competitive 7th Congressional District.
