Republicans continue to hold healthy leads in Pennsylvania’s statewide races just a month before Election Day, according to a new poll.
The Muhlenberg College/Morning Call survey released Wednesday showed Republican Tom Corbett holding a 11-point lead over Democrat Dan Onorato in the race for governor, 47 percent to 36 percent. Republican Senate candidate Pat Toomey said Tuesday that he raised $3.8 million during the third quarter of the year, besting his Democratic opponent’s haul by more than half-a-million bucks.

The latest ad from Republican Keith Rothfus is a quirky, 30-second spot in which children complain that their weekly allowances can’t possibly pay down the growing federal debt.
“Jason Altmire must think I’m made of money,” one kid says in the ad.
Another says “we’re $13 trillion in debt,” before another finally laments, “my allowance can’t cover that.”

There will indeed be at least two debates between the candidates in Pennsylvania’s competitive Senate race.
