Focus shifting from economy to national security?
May 26, 2009 at 12:08 pm
I imagine that most political analysts will tell you that the economy will be the No. 1 political issue next year, but that could be changing. I am really beginning to get the feeling that our country may be focused on a dangerous world environment, as I believe the potential for another terrorist attack has drastically increased over the last few months.
Don’t believe me, look at the news! With news that North Korea successfully…

May 21, 2009 at 12:32 pm
President Barack Obama is renewing his call to close the terrorist prison at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, but he is not finding too much support out on that ledge. In fact, many in the Democrat Party joined Republicans in rejecting the President’s plan on this issue, because they all came to an obvious conclusion—no one in America wants to have a…
Full StoryJudge Joan Orie Melvin looks strong heading into the 2009 elections
May 20, 2009 at 2:50 pm
Joan Orie Melvin’s impressive victory last night in the contested Republican Supreme Court primary election is a good sign for our Party as we begin the 2009 general election season. The race for the state Supreme Court is incredibly important to our Party and will no doubt serve as the premier race in the commonwealth this year. This convincing win provides Orie Melvin, her campaign and our Party with a tremendous amount of momentum heading…

The 2010 elections are still a year away, yet they are already serving as an important backdrop for this year’s critically important odd-year election season. The statewide judicial races have far-reaching implications for both the 2010 cycle and beyond, as the hard work and successes we earn this year will put our Party in a much stronger position heading into next year’s U.S. Senate and Governor races.
Our chances to deliver important statewide victories in…
Full StoryRepublican state Senate budget is just the medicine our party needs
May 14, 2009 at 2:49 pm
Based on the overwhelmingly positive feedback we have received related to the passage of the Republican state Senate’s budget, many Pennsylvanians understand and appreciate the Republican efforts to promote a fiscally responsible spending plan during these troubling economic times. While many Democrats, including Gov. Ed Rendell, have indigestion over the fact that the Senate plan calls for no new or increased taxes and cuts spending by just over 1 percent from the current year’s budget,…
Full StoryThe ACORN problem is real
May 11, 2009 at 2:30 pm
Only one year ago, many Americans had never heard of the group ACORN (Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now). However, after a year of bad headlines, including criminal charges being filed against their employees for voter registration fraud in numerous states, Americans are beginning to understand the damage this group is doing to the electoral process.
Last year, I personally waded through mountains of evidence collected by our own election fraud team. It was…

A new report from the www.specterforthecure.com, may be soliciting donations for his re-election campaign even though the site seems purposely designed to appear as if contributions collected are going to fund medical research.
When users first visit…
Full StoryRemembering Jack Kemp and his message
May 4, 2009 at 2:22 pm
Saturday was a sad day for Republicans, as we lost a true leader in our Party, Jack Kemp. He was as successful on the football field as he was in the halls of Congress and Americans benefited from his commitment and service to our country. Fortunately for us, his brilliance on the field did not even compare to the competitive spirit he brought to the battle of ideas. An unapologetic conservative, Kemp knew that our…
Full StorySpecter can’t erase his past
April 30, 2009 at 12:45 pm
In response to the GOP pOk, let me get this straight: Specter is now going to take the high road and act as if he is above negative campaigning. This is the same Specter that, just a few weeks ago, launched bitter attack ads on statewide television against a Republican who hadn’t even become a declared candidate. Specter may have gotten a new letter after his name and a fancy new desk on the floor of the Senate, but he can’t erase his past./p
Full Story
pIt is amazing! Specter leaves the Republican Party and now he wants to forget his past transgressions. Good luck! Specter may not want to answer to the Pennsylvania electorate, or as he puts it, “to have my 29-year record in the United States Senate decided by the Pennsylvania Republican primary electorate,” but he will no choice in November 2010. That is assuming he gets that far./p
pAccording to reports, Specter is going to still have some primary problems, this time on the Democrat side. a href="http://www.pa2010.com/2009/04/torsella-rendell-hasnt-asked-me-to-bow-out/" onclick="javascript:_gaq.push(['_trackEvent','outbound-article','http://www.pa2010.com']);return TrackClick("http%3A%2F%2Fwww.pa2010.com%2F2009%2F04%2Ftorsella-rendell-hasnt-asked-me-to-bow-out%2F','Click+here')" target="_blank"Click here/a to read empa2010.com/em editor Dan Hirschhorn’s story on Joe Torsella’s campaign and his intention to stay in the race. April 29, 2009 at 2:33 am
As you surely know, U.S. Senator Arlen Specter has decided to run as a Democrat in the upcoming Senate primary in 2010. I am certainly disappointed in his decision to leave the Republican Party.
I am a little surprised about the switch considering recent comments Specter made that the 41 Republican Senators in the Senate were “national assets” were blocking Democrats from controlling “all mechanisms of government.”
However, Specter’s stances on many issues were at…
