Jim Gerlach stopped by the Capitol Tuesday and made a quasi-bold attempt to interject himself in the state budget impasse. Gerlach, the congressman who is giving up his seat in the 6th CD to run for governor, said state lawmakers should lose pay for every day a budget is not passed.

Pat Toomey welcomed Joe Sestak to the U.S. Senate hunt and then promptly said what does it matter whether the Democrats nominate Sestak or Arlen Specter. They’re both liberals who are going to spend America into oblivion.

Joe Sestak vs. Arlen Specter isn’t Barack Obama vs. Hillary Clinton, but it’s pretty damn close, especially in a state where the idea of a mega-showdown between the 79-year-old incumbent and the 57-year-old former Navy admiral invokes Battlestar Galactica primary flashbacks.
