  • Thing of the Week

    May 13, 2009 at 6:54 am

The news is pretty slow, so I have a few nominees for thing of the week…

    1. Arlen Specter’s Soap Opera
    2. Tom Ridge sinking the GOP’s Heart
    3. The Eastern Box Turtle is our State Reptile
    4. Pens vs. Caps (Both of whom I hate)

Now, the winner is the Pens vs. Caps 7-game thriller of a series, because the political news is crawling like I-95.

    But, I need to comment…

  • Sticking to my word…

    May 8, 2009 at 9:44 am

Unless the GOP can find a credible challenger for Arlen Specter, other than Pat Toomey (quite frankly), this race is down the drain. The best hope the GOP can have, unless Meehan or Gerlach change races, is that Sestak beats Specter in the Democratic Primary, which would put Toomey within five points of Sestak, 37-32 according to Research2000 polling. Sorry Joe Torsella, it ain’t happening…

Without Tom Ridge, the Republican Party may have to look…

  • Michael Savage and Bob Asher

    May 7, 2009 at 12:03 pm

I’m still laughing after hearing Michael Savage was banned from the UK. Although I disagree with some of his comments, I find it hilarious they banned him. I mean, is Rush next?

Bob Asher says that Tom Ridge would be a great Senate Candidate. I’m wondering whether this implies an endorsement, which is a pretty big deal coming from Asher, relatively. Anyway, being down 37 points in a general election poll doesn’t help Pat Toomey.…

  • Nothing much…

    May 6, 2009 at 12:09 pm

Quick thoughts on the Specter data, with him trailing Ridge. Tom Ridge, as I said earlier, may beat him, but why would he feel the need to run? Isn’t he happy being on the board of Home Depot or something? I need to see some good Sestak-Specter (even Torsella, Kortz) data before I take any guesses.

  • The last words… of my venting!

    May 4, 2009 at 7:17 pm

First, hands down—”Thing of the Week Three” is Arlen Specter and his now 7.5 remaining lives (2004 is a half-death). Just think, if this happens every time he is up for election, he has 42 more years left. That would make him 122, or something like that.

Next, I want to talk about none other than Michael Smerconish. Even though, like any good Republican, I despise him for what he did endorsing Obama last…

  • Thoughts on Ridge, Toomey and Co.

    May 4, 2009 at 11:41 am

I have been thinking this all week long. If Arlen Specter claims that his party’s big tent was closing, why would Tom Ridge want to jump in? Imagine this…

I’m Tom Ridge and I’m running for Senate to bring good conservative values back to Washington. Even though a pro-choice guy just claimed to get the boot from the party because the big tent of the 1980s is closing, I am prepared to be the next
