Although most people are happily saying goodbye to ACORN (Including 99 percent of me), I sort of have started to feel a little sympathy for them. Holding an entire group responsible for the actions of, from at least what we know, a single employee is reckless.
They have helped a lot of people and that is going to stop now.
Let me just put it this way: If a group on the right engaged in…

Thank you, Doug Pike. For once, someone has looked for the facts and discovered the honest truth. Although he personally didn’t go this far, J-Street doesn’t really even deserve to be included in the pro-Israel discussion in the United States.
It comes down to a simple fact. J Street, which defines its mission as “promoting meaningful American leadership to end the Arab-Israeli and Palestinian-Israel conflicts peacefully and diplomatically,” really means something else. It means, “lets…

Look, when you think about it, the 12th Congressional District is going to be an afterthought soon enough. When the redistricting is completed based on the 2010 census (which, by the way, came in the mail this week), that district is the one most likely to be eliminated. This is the reason why Democratic leaders were smart to choose Mark Critz for the nomination over Barbara Hafer.
Someone like Critz probably lacks political aspirations beyond…

The Olympic Games bring out the best in the world—well, for the most part. That got me thinking.
Hosting an Olympics in Pennsylvania is plausible. Philadelphia’s best chance seemed to be 2024, but that is assuming the USOC doesn’t bid in 2022 with Anchorage, Denver, or Reno-Lake Tahoe. I’m sorry Pittsburgh, but it’s a lot less likely than you think. Philadelphia has so many key advantages for a Summer Olympiad.
Philadelphia has six Division I…

Republicans have been complaining about the non-conference committee for health care, where the two bills (House and Senate) will be reconciled. They have repeatedly said this should be done out in the open.
Honestly, that won’t accomplish anything but a good feeling (putting aside the fact that this whole effort seems to be dying now anyway). After talking with some people that have been involved in such conference committees, the fact is this: The deals…
