Trivedi Enorsements Continue to Roll In

Trivedi Recieves Endorsements from Penn Environment, Friends of the Earth Action, and the National Stonewall Democrats

ELVERSON, Pa. With Election Day fast approaching, Manan Trivedi’s campaign for Pennsylvania’s 6th Congressional District continues to gain momentum as he picks up three more prominent endorsements. Today, the the National Stonewall Democrats, PennEnvironment, and Friends of the Earth Action, all threw their support behind Trivedi, who is rapidly gaining on Congressman Jim Gerlach.

Trivedi received an endorsement from the National Stonewall Democrats, a grassroots network of LGBT Democratic activists. Stephen Handwerk, Co-Chairman of National Stonewall Democrats PAC, explained that they are backing Trivedi because of his willingness to stand up for equality and his strong and vocal opposition to “Don’t Ask Don’t Tell.”

“Manan Trivedi is the only candidate in this race who will fight to end massive discrimination as well as the unwarranted harm brought on our troops by the disastrous policy of ‘Don’t Ask Don’t Tell’,” Handwerk said. “His opponent, Jim Gerlach, who never served in our nation’s military, is content to sit idly by and stall with calls for studies. Trivedi, a veteran himself, knows that our overworked troops need more support, not more political games, and that’s why the National Stonewall Democrats proudly endorse his candidacy.”

Trivedi was also endorsed by PennEnvironment, a statewide citizen-based environmental organization. PennEnvironment’s Director, David Masur, cited Trivedi’s support for reducing global warming and carbon emissions while creating jobs as the reason for the endorsement.

“Manan has championed clean, renewable energy as well as improving our public transportation systems as a way to reduce air pollution and global warming emissions,” Masur said. “We are confident that Dr. Trivedi will stand up for our environment when he’s elected, that’s why he is receiving PennEnvironment’s endorsement for Congress.”

Friends of the Earth Action, an organization dedicated to fighting for laws and public officials who will stand up for the environment, also endorsed Trivedi today. During his campaign, Trivedi has laid out his plans to end pollution while growing our economy by investing in clean energy manufacturing and infrastructure jobs.

Trivedi has already received endorsements from the environmental organization Sierra Club and the LGBT group Liberty City Democrats
