Retired general to stump for Lentz
A retired Army General who served in Iraq will hit the campaign trail next weekend with former Army Ranger and current congressional candidate Bryan Lentz.
Retired Major General Paul Eaton will headline the Vets for Lentz kickoff event next Saturday afternoon in Upper Darby. Lentz, a Democrat, is running against Republican Pat Meehan and independent Jim Schneller in the 7th District.
Eaton headed up operations to train Iraqi troops shortly after the 2003 invasion, and later served as a deputy chief of staff at Fort Monroe in Virginia.
“After a long military career that’s taken me from West Point to commanding troops in Iraq, I’ve seen firsthand that in tough situations, nothing is more important than leadership,” Eaton said in a statement to pa2010.com. “That’s why I’m proud to support Bryan Lentz, a decorated military veteran who has consistently been a leader as a soldier, a prosecutor, and a legislator. As our nation faces wars abroad and economic hardships at home, we need leaders like Bryan to make the right choices in Congress.”
