Report: NRCC could spend more than $500K on Marino
With Republican Tom Marino struggling to raise money, it looks like he’ll be getting some significant help from his friends in Washington.
The National Republican Congressional Committee might spend $595,000 in the 10th District for TV buys running through October.
Nothing has hit the airwaves yet. But the spending decisions, reported by CQ Politics, could help level the playing field at least a bit in the inexpensive northeast Pennsylvania media market, where incumbent Democrat Chris Carney has a massive financial advantage and has been on the air for more than a month. The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee has also reserved time for significant ad buys in the district.
It wasn’t immediately clear if the NRCC had committed to spending the full amount, or rather had just made airtime reservations, which can be canceled later.
The race is currently No. 5 on the pa2010.com Congressional Power Rankings.

Too little too late. Marino made himself look like a fool with his little outburst when Toomey made a visit. I’m shocked the NRCC is going to bat for him. They could also pull those quickly and drop them in another market for another candidate. It could be a ploy to ruffle Carney’s feathers.
