Rendell exempts Corbett, Toomey from ‘wackos’ comment

Rendell exempts Corbett, Toomey from ‘wackos’ comment

Gov. Ed Rendell said this week that the GOP is being taken over by “wackos” and “fruit loops.” But he says he wasn’t talking about Pennsylvania’s statewide candidates.

A day after making those comments in Philadelphia, Rendell said they didn’t apply to gubernatorial candidate Tom Corbett or Senate candidate Pat Toomey. This clarification came despite the fact that Rendell alluded to Corbett’s much-chronicled comments about unemployed Pennsylvanians as one of several examples that led up to his “wackos” comment.

“There are clearly elements of the Republican Party that are totally wacked out,” Rendell told The Patriot-News.  “By no means are all Republican candidates ‘wacked out’ or ‘fruit loops.’”

He called Toomey a “reasonable” person with whom he disagrees, and said that Corbett “hasn’t done enough wacko things to be classified as wacko.”

Agreed. They’re not wackos. They’re just wrong on the big issues.

Corbett is an AG who has displayed disrespect for the law in his partisan prosecutions

Toomey is the rich tool of his Wall Street masters and plans to stay that way.

    Not wackos, just disgusting

Lame duck, low approval rating, tax hiking, budget busting, debt riddled Ed Rendell venting about Republicans like a child? The same nobody who couldn’t even help Specter win his party’s primary a few months ago?

Clearly he’s desperate for publicity as the curtain closes on his failed tenure as governor, but no one really cares what the guy thinks anymore.

Sounds like the polls have the Democrats getting a bit testy doesn’t it?

Rendell built a career on being likable. No one ever called him the smartest guy in the room, but people found him pleasant to be around.

Now Fast Eddie has resorted to bitter name-calling. Never much of a policy guy himself, at least he used to avoid wallowing in mud. Facing his own irrelevance and being held accountable for big spending, high debt binges in both Philadelpia and the Commonwealth, he seems to have lost that affability upon which his career was built.

Okay Ed so you have failed as Gov. Think back to the people that busted their butts to get you elected and then you just screwed them and you know who I mean. Now you dare to say you are sorry to the corrupt AG and Toomey the nut case that belongs to Corporate America, lock, stock and Barrel.

Think of those that you screwed, we remember you and will never forget what you have done. You are a disgrace to those that have know you since you were the DA in Philly !

Goodbye, no one will miss you
