Rasmussen: Toomey up 8
Republican Senate candidate Pat Toomey continues to lead Pennsylvania’s competitive Senate race, topping Democrat Joe Sestak by eight points, according to a new poll.
The Rasmussen survey released Wednesday showed Toomey winning 49 percent of the vote, compared to 41 percent for Sestak. Eight percent are still undecided, and two percent prefer another candidate.
Most public polls in recent months have shown Toomey leading by low double-digits or high single-digits.
The survey of 750 likely voters, conducted Sept. 13, had a margin of error of 4 percent.

Pennsylvania has a competitive Senate race? This is the first I’ve heard of it. Apparently being down nearly double digits for 4 straight months is considered “competitive” to PA2012. Democrats have always been the party of low expectations though, and they’re certainly meeting them this year. I can almost smell the hope and change in the air!

For Bill and the other Sestak drones that kept claiming the race was only 6 points, it’s time they woke up and smelled the coffee and realize that the race is slipping away from them.
Even when Ras had the race at +6 points 2 weeks ago, Reuters/Ipsos had it at +10.
They like to claim that Toomey’s summer of advertising hasn’t worked. But, they are ignoring that Toomey has solidified his lead.
49% to 41% is significant. Sestak is 9-times as far away from the magic 50% as Toomey is.
Even though Joe’s fans ignore that the gap is consistently widening, they also ignore that Toomey’s number is creeping up from 45% to 48% and 49%. Toomey hadn’t polled below 47% for the past 4 weeks, and Sestak hasn’t polled above 42%.
The pool of undecideds is shrinking and Joe has less room to maneuver. Joe is clearly worried because he’s started advertising on TV several weeks earlier than his normal late-blitz.
The DSCC should take the some of money they were going to pour into PA and spend it in Delaware where we now have a much improved shot of winning a Senate seat.
The race is pretty consistently Toomey +8. Sestak might be able to close within 5 points, but it’s going to be expensive and fruitless.

Its funnny how Sestak-Rats loved the Rasmussen Poll during the Primary Election when the numbers were in their favor. I can already tell you that Bill Healy is going to play spin doctor with these numbers and predict an 8-point Sestak victory. The General Election can’t come fast enough because the silver-lining in a Pat Toomey victory is having 2-Star Admiral Joe and his legion of Sestak-Rats exterminated from the Democratic Party.
ALL JOE SESTAK HAS DONE SINCE HIS POLITICAL CAREER STARTED IS ANALLY RAPE THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY IN ORDER TO ADVANCE HIS OWN NARSASSITIC AMBITION.
Democrats in PA would be better-off with Pat Toomey for the short-term so that we can put up a better qualified candidate in 2016 as opposed to having Sestak continue to anally rape the party over the long-term. So you can count me among many of the proud Democrats who will not be casting their vote for Joe Sestak in the 2010 General Election.

Obama blew it in PA for Sestak. A low approval Democrat president, the recession and high “wrong track for country” ratings by PA voters means the last thing they want is an Obama ally in the Senate.
Game over, Dems.

Lance-
Tell us how you really feel.
Clearly, you are trying to steal my title as Sestak enemy #1.
The DSCC was talking about spending $4.4 million, but just image what $1 million of that would do in Delaware.
If Specter was the candidate, we’d be seeing Onorato/Specter signs everywhere, joint rallies, joint voter registration drives, etc.
What we now have is the “Stone Soup” story BEFORE the stranger arrived to save the village from malnutrition because everyone was hoarding food.
Of course, someone like Bill will never accept Sestak’s blame in all of this.

Joe Hoeffel Sestak is an unelectable quack. When will Democrats realize that the only way a psycho left liberal from philly can win a state-wide race is to be a complete and total crook, like Rendell. Aside from being a crook, it is impossible for a true-blue liberal to win in PA, doesn’t matter what the registration difference is.

You clearly are Sestak Enemy #1. All I’m doing is stealing a page from the Republicans in that I’d rather lose an election and force us Democrats to do some soul searching so that we nominate a real liberal next time around. It takes a Liberal to fight a Conservative not a DINO like Sestak.

True Dat. Sestak is unquestionably a DINO. It’s a shame this wasn’t Hoeffel’s year. He was spot-on for all the key issues. But, I think it’s pretty clear that Specter would be owning the middle and the Left if Sestak hadn’t f*cked it up for everybody.
Fake Pat-
Sestak may well be a psycho. But please don’t insult the Left, Liberals or Philly by association them with Sestak.
The funny thing is that Sestak is no liberal, but merely plays one on TV. So, the real liberals aren’t excited by him because they realize he’s not one of us.

Right on, I couldn’t agree with you more. We should get together election night and celebrate with the little Admiral loses.

We should drive by his campaign headquarters with a banner reading: “This is what Democracy looks like.”
Or “What goes around, comes around.”
Sestak should rightly be credited with bringing down the entire ticket (after campaigning about the importance/value to Dems of having his name at the top). Unpleasant as it will be to have Senator Toomey, it will end Sestak’s political career and in the long run save the party many millions of dollars that won’t get wasted on Sestak in the future.
