Onorato ad sticks to reform, revitalization story
Democratic gubernatorial candidate Dan Onorato’s first TV ad of the general election is a 60-second amalgamation of many of the themes and images that made up his winning media campaign in the May primary.
Onorato’s campaign first unveiled the new spot in an e-mail to supporters Wednesday afternoon. The size and scope of the ad buy was not immediately clear. Republican nominee Tom Corbett’s campaign unveiled its first ad of the general election cycle late last month.
The latest Onorato ad recaps Onorato’s record on balancing local budgets, consolidating county agencies and helping to oversee Allegheny County’s economic revitalization. Some of the shots, voiceovers and press clips used in the spot are the same that were used during the primary, when Onorato went on TV late and quickly pulled away from the four-man field.
“Now, Dan Onorato is running for governor,” the ad says, “because Harrisburg needs to be changed.”
See the ad below. The ad will be fact-checked later as part of pa2010.com‘s new AD WATCH feature.
