New Meehan site targets Lentz as Pelosi ally

New Meehan site targets Lentz as Pelosi ally

Republican Pat Meehan’s congressional campaign will unveil a new Web site Thursday arguing that Democratic opponent Bryan Lentz is a “rubber stamp” for House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.

The Web site, The Rubber Stamp Report, is expected to go online Thursday afternoon. It spotlights areas of public policy where Lentz and Pelosi agree, including health care reform and capt-and-trade energy legislation. It also notes the financial support Lentz’s campaign has received from Pelosi and other Democratic leaders, including a fundraiser that Pelosi headlined for Lentz during the summer. Both campaigns in the competitive 7th District race have received significant campaign cash from their respective party leaderships.

“Bryan Lentz’s first vote in Congress will be for Nancy Pelosi as Speaker,” the site says. “From now until Election Day, The Rubber Stamp Report will chronicle Bryan Lentz’s ties to Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi and the liberal elite. If Bryan Lentz goes to Washington, he’ll be a reliable rubber stamp for Nancy Pelosi and her liberal policies—and she knows it.”

The tack mirrors one being used by Republican candidates across the country, who are working doggedly to tie their Democratic opponents to Pelosi. Poll-tested “rubber stamp” language is being used often.

The new Web site from Meehan’s campaign comes exactly a month after Lentz’s campaign unveiled its own hit site. The race is currently No. 1 on the pa2010.com Congressional Power Rankings.

“This Web site is the Meehan campaign’s latest attempt to distract voters from what really matters: getting our economy back on track,” Lentz campaign manager Kevin McTigue said when told of the site’s content. “Bryan Lentz is wrapping up a 25-stop economic tour and will continue to make growing the economy and creating jobs his top priority.”

Pat Meehan has no plans or ideas of his own. If anyone is being run by his party and its leadership it is Pat…the orange man is pulling Pat’s strings…has Pat put out one thing that posiitively reflects on him? he has spent all of his effort so far moving from botched election year stunt to botched election year stunt. Lentz wins this race 53-47.

Umm.. Pat… we are voting for Lentz because of his support for the superior policies that Dems like Pelosi offer over the discredited policies of Boehner (who you want to take over pulling your puppet string).

Diano, that’s a lovely sentiment, but I’m not sure it’s one shared by a majority in… well, anywhere, actually.

But I’m pretty sure the Meehan people would agree with me if I encouraged you to go out and tout Lentz’s support of Pelosi’s “superior” policies every chance you can get!

    Tony-
It’s shared by the majority of people who read and understand the news, see what’s happening and realize the causes are from Bush/GOP policies. The Dems are trying to turn things around, but the Republicans in the Senate are being obstructionists and preventing (or stripping out) the most effective policies.

I support the policies. Why would you support the bad policies that ruined the economy, and be against the type of policies that got us out of the Great Depression?

You’ll be able to tell how much Lentz wants to be tied to Pelosi by the number of times he proudly proclaims his support for her or invites her into the district to campaign.
