Boehner headlining state GOP dinner

House Minority Leader John Boehner is coming back to Pennsylvania next week and will be the keynote speaker at the state Republican Party’s fall dinner in Harrisburg.

Boehner’s visit nest Friday comes after he made a summer fundraising swing through the state to benefit congressional candidates.

The would-be Speaker of the House if the GOP makes enough gains in November, Boehner’s continued attention to Pennsylvania reflects the state’s role as a battleground in the fight for control of Congress, with 10 House seats in play here.

“We are honored to have House Republican Leader John Boehner serve as our keynote speaker for our annual Fall Dinner in Harrisburg,” state GOP chairman Rob Gleason said. “Pennsylvania is again the epicenter of the political universe and a visit by one of the leaders of our national party so close to the election underscores that point. The road to the Republican majority in Congress runs through our Commonwealth.”
