Pat Meehan Visits New Way Air Bearings in Aston
By MEEHAN FOR CONGRESS
DREXEL HILL, PA – On Wednesday, Pat Meehan, the Republican candidate for Congress in the 7th Congressional District, visited New Way Air Bearings, a small business located in Aston that produces industrial bearings for high-speed and precision mechanical applications.
“New Way Air Bearings is an amazing story of challenge and success here in Delaware County, and is a prime example of the kind of small businesses critical to America’s economic recovery,” said Meehan. “Small businesses like New Way are responsible for as much as 80% of net job growth in the last ten years, and America is relying on these small businesses to create the jobs that will put our economy back on track.”
“New Way’s management expressed to me many of the same frustrations with government that I’ve heard repeated throughout the district, such as uncertainty about future tax hikes and fear of regulatory changes that will increase costs,” Meehan said. “When businesses cannot confidently forecast their tax and regulatory liabilities, they will not invest and take the kinds of risks that spur real economic growth.”
New Way President, Nick Hackett, escorted Meehan through the facility and introduced him to several employees. “Pat Meehan understands the challenges facing small businesses in this difficult economic environment,” said Hackett. “We appreciate his commitment to lowering taxes and supporting policies to help small businesses thrive, and we look forward to working with him when he represents the 7th Congressional District in Congress.”
