Pa. Dems: Caught between a rock and a hard place
After two years of reckless spending increases and a continued reliance on growing government to fix the economy, Pennsylvania voters know whose policies have left America in dire economic straits. With the election drawing closer and Pennsylvania experiencing further economic turmoil as the result of President Obama’s failed agenda, Keystone State Democrats have every reason to distance themselves from the president and his policies.
In Pennsylvania, 71,600 jobs have been lost since the failed economic stimulus package was passed. The president’s government takeover of health care has Pennsylvania small businesses set to shed jobs with billions in new tax hikes. The state could lose up to 97,500 more jobs if the Democrats’ cap-and trade energy tax becomes law. If that’s not enough, the average middle-income family in Pennsylvania will soon see their taxes rise by $1,528 if the president’s push to raise new taxes wins approval in Congress this fall.
Democrats across the country are increasingly willing to throw President Obama and his policies under the bus if it means helping their reelection prospects. But Pennsylvania Democrats should be careful of disowning the same agenda they have blindly supported for the last two years. If Senator Arlen Specter’s defeat was any indication, Pennsylvanians don’t like politicians who pander for political reasons.
Then again, Pennsylvanians certainly don’t like the failed Obama agenda that has pushed their state to economic ruin.

Steele has no business evaluating the fiscal health of Pennsylvania after putting the RNC in over $2 million worth of debt since he became chair. Then he tried to cover it up. Not to mention his other nefarious activities such as using RNC funds to pay for a little adventure for the Young Eagles at a strip joint in LA. So much for Steele’s claim to fiscal responsibility and good old family values.
The stimulus package hasn’t failed. It is just ramping up with around $400 billion more to be spent on rebuilding old transportation infrastructure (highways)and constructing new transportation infrastructure (high speed rail) for the future.
Screw Steele.
