Lentz camp unveils new site hitting Meehan

Democrat Bryan Lentz’s congressional campaign is up with a new Web site that seeks to tell voters about his opponent’s “real record.”

The Web site, Pat Meehan’s Real Record, was formally unveiled Monday morning. Clearly designed to look like the GOP nominee’s official campaign homepage, the site aggregates and organizes the entirety of the political and policy attacks Lentz has made against Meehan over the last year, in what has proven to be the state’s most competitive and contentious House race. In short, the site makes the argument that Meehan is a career partisan who has risen not on merits but on the strength of his political connections.

Citing past news coverage, the site includes recaps of his campaign’s troubled petition drive; his past political exploits; a press conference in which Lentz stole the show; and the fact that, as U.S. Attorney, he survived a political purge in the Bush administration Justice Department that excluded so-called “loyal Bushies”

“Pat Meehan’s career has been defined by insider deals, partisan politics, and being more focused on getting press for himself than on results,” the site says. “The more people know about ‘Pat Meehan’s Real Record,’ the more they’ll know he’s the wrong choice for the 7th District.”

In a statement, Meehan campaign manager Bryan Kendro said Lentz is playing “gutter politics,” hitting the Democrat again for the help his allies provided in getting a third-party candidate on the ballot.

“Bryan Lentz has made a conscious effort to engage in gutter politics, resorting to dirty tricks, smear tactics and outright manipulation of the election in an attempt to gain an advantage,” Kendro said. “Lentz knows he cannot win a campaign running on his record, or support for the disastrous policies of Nancy Pelosi which have led to fewer jobs… and bigger government.”

First time I’ve ever seen Lentz’s campaign website. Blows! Looks like something a high school student would put together in an Intro to Web Design class.

Never a good sign when your attack site is better looking than your official campaign website…

Looks like Lentz is trying to distract attention from two weeks of bad press and editorials after he put a third party candidate on the ballot and then hiding from the press.

Not sure if Lentz is a chicken afraid to defend his unethical actions or an ostrich with his head in the sand.

Believe it or not, the guy who did Lentz’ website was the same guy who did Schneller’s.

It Lentz ready for prime time? He is lagging in fundraising and the polls. He seems caught off guard about connections to his campaign and Scheller’s petitions. And now his “attack” website is full of spelling and grammar mistakes and none of the sources actually link to the articles, allowing no one to actually get context or I’m guessing discover Lentz’s gross distortions as to what the articles actually say.

The only thing he did right was make the website look like Meehan’s.

    Colin-
I’ll have to go with NOT!.

The web pages for votelentz.com and patmeehansrealrecord.com are clearly built using the same web development tools.

The internal coding of the Schneller (jim4us.com) site is completely different.

There is nothing remotely in common about the tools, style, etc. of the underlying source code.

    David,
I was laying the sarcasm on pretty thick and you thought I was serious. This further proves my thinking that you are in fact a moron. I was merely pointing out that the unprofessional nature of Lentz’ website rivals that of Schneller’s.

of a fundraising advantage if you spend all your money at Maggie O’Neill’s?

Political junkies will visit the site, real voters could care less.

    Colin-
Your single post was far too thin to qualify as “thick sarcasm” as there are probably many of Meehan trolls that would not only believe it, but spread such a rumor on other sites.

Try putting a smiley-face on your next post, until you get the hang of “sarcasm”.

Lentz campaign – you forgot most important:

Meehan = Chief Strategist and Campaign Manager for Right Wingnut Rick Santorum.

That is all that needs to be said.

    Hey David,

I went to the website that is linked through your name… I’m confused as to why you always make negative comments directed towards Pat and his campaign? Aren’t you two on the same team?

    Pete-
I’m opposed to Meehan because he’s a total Delco GOP shill. Lentz is great guy, a solid Democrat who supports his party, and will make a great congressman.

I’m opposed to Sestak because I believe he’s a fraud and detrimental to the Democratic party. I was planning to support the Green candidate. As it stands now, I’d prefer to have NO Senator for the next six years than either of the turkeys on the ballot.
