In the 7th, it’s the petitions, stupid
In an election cycle where the focus was expected to be on jobs, jobs, jobs, who would have thought that the big topic in the 7th Congressional District would turn out to be petitions, petitions, petitions?
First came the accusations that Republican candidate Pat Meehan submitted nominating petitions containing fraudulent signatures, and the subsequent investigation that had to be referred to the office of the Republican Attorney General—and GOP nominee for governor—seeing as how the Delaware County DA had contributed to Meehan’s campaign… an investigation that, more than four months later, is still awaiting resolution.
Now comes news that independent Jim Schneller had help getting himself on the ballot thanks to supporters of Democratic nominee Bryan Lentz, a revelation that Schneller himself is either disingenuously denying or having a rather difficult time coming to terms with.
Now, it may not be the Orie-Zappala family feud that we’ve got going on over here in the southwestern corner of the state, but voters of the 7th District certainly do seem to have a rather lively battle on their hands.

Hypocrite

Corbett is such a flaming hypocrite. He is supposed to be investigating the Meehan campaign’s possibly fraudulent petitions. I did not want a partisan for an attorney general, and I do not want Corbett for governor. I am voting for Onorato. I hope that the next attorney general will investigate malfeasance of both parties.

As usual you are correct Tammy, I have seen in so many races, that the candidates did not take care of basics, accurate signatures on petitions, filing financial reports and generally a lackadasical approach to the paperwork which is so important and required for an astute governing candidate. It is politics 101 and many get a failing grade.
