Flush with cash, Carney hits the airwaves

Less than three months before Election Day, Congressman Chris Carney (D-10) is deploying his massive financial advantage on TV.

Carney, who’s seeking a third term in the northeast Pennsylvania district, began his first ad buy of the campaign this week. He faces former U.S. Attorney Tom Marino, in a race that Republicans had hoped would be competitive. But Carney finished June with more than 70 times the amount of campaign cash held by his opponent, a huge edge in the cheap media market.

Carney’s first 30-second spot, embedded at bottom, talks about the five-hour drive between Washington D.C. and the district, as well as reminding voters that he twice voted against the 2008 financial bailout. “I bring the values of northeast Pennsylvania to Congress every day,” Carney says in the ad. “I may work in Washington, but I’ll never live there. There’s too much politics, and not enough common sense.”

The ad buy was first reported by The Times Leader, and it’s costing his campaign about $60,000 to air on four local TV stations. Carney has enough money to stay on the air until voters go to the polls.

The race is currently No. 10 on the pa2010.com Congressional Power Rankings.

I guess he knows he is going to loose. So he might as well start early and go through the money he has in the bank. Because he can’t take it with him. Bye Bye Carney

Carney is NOT Pro-life. Ir doesn’t matter he has 5 children. Look at Obama he has 2 girls & is very Pro-Abortion. Carney will not win. The healthcare vote will cost him big time.

Republicans should quit wasting their money in this district. As soon as people look closely at Marino they will run and run fast. Carney is in and hopefully stays for a very long time.

Carney knows he is TOAST! Look at the latest poll Marino 52% to Carney 37%. His follows the Liberal Agenda and does not listen to the people he is suppose to represent. His office people are rude and will tell you that you do NOT understand the “BIG Picture” like he does…Really? Voting out Carney in Nov……he has cost us too much already and can not afford his Liberal Sell Out to Pelosi!

Why does he not talk about his vote on healthcare? If you call his office on this, they will tell you they still dont know what is in the bill, but you can go look it up and figure it out. If they dont know how should we? Vote him out in Nov!
