Callahan nets $150K from Clinton fundraiser

In addition to stumping for Joe Sestak in Scranton Tuesday, former President Bill Clinton’s fundraising stop in the Lehigh Valley brought in a quick $150,000 for 15th Congressional District hopeful John Callahan.

The event attracted just over 500 donors, 400 of whom contributed less than $150, Callahan campaign manager Justin Schall said. Clinton later headed to Philadelphia to raise cash for gubernatorial nominee Dan Onorato.

Although Congressman Charlie Dent (R-15) has raised more money than Callahan so far during the cycle, the Bethlehem mayor has been one of the Democratic Party’s fundraising stars, and Dent’s higher burn rate has left to two candidates close to equal in campaign cash.

The Lehigh Valley race is currently No. 5 on the pa2010.com Congressional Power Rankings.

Callahan’s going to have plenty of cash to make sure every voter knows Dent voted to fire 300,000 teachers yesterday http://bit.ly/9TNyT7

Since when is it the federal government’s job to bail out our state’s educational woes. This is the State’s responsibility! There are other states that are fine, and are being forced totake this bailout what a joke!
