Rendell: Corbett is ‘totally out of touch’

Rendell: Corbett is ‘totally out of touch’

Gov. Ed Rendell joined the rest of his party in criticizing Attorney General Tom Corbett’s much-publicized jobs gaffe on Monday, saying the GOP gubernatorial hopeful is “totally out of touch with what ordinary people are dealing with every day.”

Rendell’s comments, reported by The Patriot-News, came more than a week after Corbett said that “the jobs are there” and that some unemployed are staying jobless to collect unemployment benefits. Since then, Democratic nominee Dan Onorato has hit Corbett on the issue daily. And while Corbett’s campaign has tried to walk back his comments somewhat, it has struggled to kill the story.

“It’s not just about the money,” Rendell said. “It’s about the dignity of working and for [Corbett] to misunderstand that is pretty dismaying.”

Rendell increases state spending over 40% while governor and has done nothing to revive PA’s economy, and he thinks Tom Corbett is “out of touch” with people? Poor Lame Duck Ed, trying to be relevant. In a few months this failure of a governor will be nothing more than a bad memory.

Corbett clearly has no faith in the work ethic of working class and middle class Pennsylvanians. He doesn’t believe that we find dignity in work.

Why would anyone be shocked at Corbett’s comment. He has no idea how hard the average Joe looks for work but Corbett has always been out of touch with the common man.
I just hope all those people that are unemployed will remember when they vote in November.
Corbett is not up to par to be elected anything which we have seen in his term as AG. Sure he has busted some people but were they really guilty or did he just set them up. ??? You would have to be stupid or dumb to ever vote for this loser.

Corbett was the wrong choice in 2004 and many, many people are paying for that mistake now.
