Message to Liberal Congressman Joe Sestak: Voting with Nancy Pelosi 97% of the Time is Not Much Less Liberal than Voting with Pelosi 100% of the Time
By TOOMEY FOR SENATE
Allentown – Congressman Joe Sestak doesn’t want Pennsylvanians to know just how often he votes with liberal champion Nancy Pelosi.
According to an article in the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette today, Congressman Sestak is trying to force television stations to remove a Chamber of Commerce ad detailing his votes with liberal Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi. The ad states that Congressman Sestak has voted with Nancy Pelosi 100% of the time, which is entirely accurate about his votes in 2009. Sestak complains that he only voted with Pelosi 97% over the course of his congressional career.
The truth is, Congressman Sestak has voted with Nancy Pelosi very nearly 100% of the time over his entire congressional career and has sided with the liberal Speaker on every major issue, from bailouts, to government-run health care, to massive deficits, to huge tax increases on Pennsylvania businesses, to a cap-and-trade energy tax.
Joe Sestak’s Liberal Voting Record
2007-2008: Joe Sestak voted with Nancy Pelosi 96% of the time. (Congressional Quarterly)
2009: Joe Sestak voted with Nancy Pelosi 100% of the time. (Congressional Quarterly)
2010: Joe Sestak voted with Nancy Pelosi 94% of the time. (Congressional Quarterly)
“Whether Congressman Sestak has voted with Nancy Pelosi 100% of the time, as he did in 2009, or 96% of the time another year, the fact remains that he is way too liberal for Pennsylvania,” Toomey Communications Director Nachama Soloveichik said. “Either way, his votes for never ending bailouts, government-run health care, ballooning deficits, a cap-and-trade energy tax, and trillions of dollars in tax increases make him far outside the mainstream. It is telling that Congressman Sestak is going to such lengths to hide his liberal record from Pennsylvania voters.”
