LEFTOVERS: Chamber hits Sestak, Stupak aids Dahlkemper, labor endorsements
We already mentioned the new conservative Middle East policy group that’s going after Democrat Joe Sestak. But we forgot to say that the U.S. Chamber of Commerce is also taking on the congressman and candidate for Senate. Our friends at Early Returns 2.0 pointed out that the business lobby is tying Sestak to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi in a new ad. You can check it out below.
Meanwhile, Bart Stupak—the retiring congressman and namesake of the so-called Stupak amendment to the health care reform law—is helping out the pro-life Democrats who stuck with him during his crusade to prevent the overhaul law from providing federal funds for abortion. Politico reports that Congresswoman Kathy Dahlkemper (D-3) got some of the money Stupak has been doling out.
And the state’s big public employee union endorsed its slate of statewide candidates on Tuesday. Not so surprisingly, the public sector is casting its lot with the Democrats, backing Sestak for Senate, Onorato for governor and Scott Conklin for Lieutenant Governor. Council 13 of the American Federation of State, County, and Municipal Employees represents more than 65,000 government employees in Pennsylvania.

The general message of the ad is that electing Sestak will usher in the apocalypse. Probably isn’t too far off, either. What’s pathetic is Sestak’s total lack of response to these hits. Is the guy even campaigning? It’s like Pennsylvania nominated our own Alvin Greene.
