Kelly Campaign Rips Dahlkemper Taxpayer Paid Campaign Mail
By MIKE KELLY FOR CONGRESS
Butler, PA – Josh Snyder, Campaign Manager for Mike Kelly (R-Butler), released the following statement in response to Kathy Dahlkemper’s taxpayer paid mailers from her congressional office:
“During the past six weeks or so, Kathy Dahlkemper’s congressional office has sent two mailers that have been nothing more than taxpayer funded campaign mail.
The hypocrisy in the mailings would be funny if they weren’t so sad. The first mailer talks about ‘Making Government Tighten Its Belt’ and the taxpayers are the ones who paid for the piece. Franking privileges are there to be used to actually educate constituents on federal services and to announce town hall meetings. However, instead of holding town halls Mrs. Dahlkemper is trying to defend her abysmal record in Congress on the backs of taxpayers. It’s a ridiculous abuse of power and it needs stopped.
We are calling on Kathy Dahlkemper, in the interest of public disclosure, to tell the taxpayers in the 3rd District how much this publicly funded propaganda has cost them.
Mrs. Dahlkemper likes to brag about the size of her campaign war chest – wouldn’t it make more sense for her campaign committee to pay for these mailers instead of having hardworking taxpayers in the 3rd district, who are already having trouble making ends meet, foot the bill?”
