Comments on: Carney says Afghan leaks amount to ‘treason’

Advocating cover-ups over the release of an honest assessment of the how the war is being conducted has led to MORE troop deaths and the pursuit of bad policies (and war crimes). It seems like US money going to Pakistan wound up being funneled to help the Taliban fight our own soldiers. If we had this information publicly available 5 years ago, the policies could have been altered and more US soldiers would be alive and with their families.

One can only hope that since this information represents the Bush era and policies, that Obama has learned from these errors in crafting current policy.

As a Veteran living in the 10th District, I am proud to have a Congressman representing me who understands what our troops go through. Chris Carney is an Intel Officer in the Navy Reserves and has a vast amount of experience dealing with sensitive information. Its a shame he is being accused of “blame” – As a Veteran it is reassuring that my Congressman has the guts to take a tough stand against someone within our ranks that would jeopardize the safety of his fellow soldiers.

It’s a shame, but no surprise, that Carney is less interested in the truth than trying to blame someone for exposing the truth about how badly this war has been handled.

Reports indicate that the documents may even reveal war crimes and cover ups, during the Bush administration. These should be investigated, especially cases indicating the death of children.

Any member of the armed forces or government involved in such acts are not representing the US, and don’t deserve the respect the majority of our soldiers earn every day.
