Congressman Jason Altmire (D-4) is enjoying a huge advantage in campaign cash as he seeks reelection to a third term.

Altmire raised almost $300,000 in May and June, finishing the reporting period with more than $1.4 million in cash on hand, according to newly filed campaign finance data. That’s about seven times the money held by Republican opponent Keith Rothfus.

Despite stoking the ire of labor leaders by voting against health care reform legislation, Altmire didn’t have a primary challenge, and spent only $71,000 during the period. He’s raised almost $2 million since winning a second term in 2008.

Most of his biggest expenditures during the quarter were for payroll, fundraising costs, and $8,500 for “research” conducted by the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee.

Gahhhh…Altmire is still a putz. His district staff is rude and utterly useless, and Altmire is only out for himself.

I found Altmire’s staff to be highly professional and extremely helpful. Altmire a “putz”? Classy!
