Pols pass on a chance to hang with Obama
Elected officials aren’t exactly tripping over themselves to spend time with President Obama during his visit to Pittsburgh Wednesday.
The Tribune-Review reports that Allegheny County Executive Dan Onorato, Senator Bob Casey and Congressmen Jason Altmire (D-4), Mike Doyle (D-14) and Tim Murphy (R-18) all declined invitations from the White House to join the president when he speaks at Carnegie Mellon University.
The reasons ran the gamut from previous campaign plans (Onorato) to anniversary trips with the wives (Casey and Doyle).
Obama will be joined by Senator Arlen Specter and Pittsburgh Mayor Luke Ravenstahl.
One politics professor told the newspaper that so many elected officials turning down an invite from the president is “peculiar, to say the least.”

Arlen is going to be there because come Jan he will need another job, so he’s sucking up to Barry for a cabinet position. Mayor Luke will be there because he’s just too stupid to know any better. Obama is a failed president, just like Luke is a failed mayor and Arlen is a failed senator. It’s like CMU is holding a Loser Convention.

I stop reading whenever somebody refers to President Obama as “Barry.” Right then, I know exactly where the rest of the comment is coming from.

Jeff, after 8 years of Bush Obama is a breath of fresh air.

Democrats running in tough races are avoiding Dear Leader Obama. What a hoot!
You Dems are poised for utter failure in five months: http://hotair.com/archives/2010/06/02/gallup-gop-takes-six-point-lead-in-generic-congressional-ballot/

BS, 94 – Glenn Beck just called. He needs his End-of-Days paranoid xenophobia back.

Poor Broken Record Bruce Bailey. Always typing names like Bush, Beck, Cheney, etc. in his postings. The dear man actually believes voters will be thinking of these people instead of the increasingly unpopular incumbents Obama, Pelosi and gang when they vote in a few months.
Bailey, you are in for a rude awakening this fall. You’re the one who will need to be medicated…badly.

94 –
When Glen Beck stains the hallowed steps of the Lincoln Memorial with his fetid self this August and addresses the assembled Teabaggers with his 100-year-plan to make the nation safe for Christianity, you can bet that’s what most sane people will be thinking of when they go to the polls in November.
And they will be voting to make sure that no candidate who aligns himself with this absurd End-of-the-World-ism (like, say, Pat Toomey) gets anywhere near an electoral win.
I can’t wait for November.

The ObamaCrimes site is from the discredited Philip J. Berg, who still questions where Obama was born.

I like this David Diano quote from another posting: “The general (election) will be a referendum on Obama and the economy.” How true, and this is exactly why the Dems will go down in flames this fall. Voters don’t like Obama’s leadership and agenda, and perceptions of the economy surely won’t be positive within the next few months.
Bailey, personally I think Glenn Beck is a nut, not unlike the Moonbats on the left. Nice to see you are still obesessed with “Teabaggers.”

Even during the debate over who would do better against Toomey, I was pretty consistent that Obama’s popularity would be the deciding factor.
If the jobs numbers are good, with a clear positive trend, the Dems will do well.

While all of the comments focus on the Dems, one should not forget the other side of the aisle. Specifically, the party endorsed “marionette” Corbett whose strings will be manipulated by R. Gleason. The story is not over for Rohrer though. Thirty Dems wrote Sam’s name in for the primary in Lancaster,PA knowing that it would not count but sending a strong message to the RINOS.
