Poll: Corbett up 10 in guv race
Tom Corbett still enjoys a double-digit lead in the race for governor, according to a new poll.
The Public Policy Polling survey released Wednesday showed Corbett, the Republican nominee and state attorney general, leading Democrat Dan Onorato by 10 points, 45 percent to 35 percent. That’s a slightly smaller lead than Corbett enjoyed in February, when the same poll found Onorato, the Allegheny County executive, trailing by 13 points.
Twenty percent of voters are undecided, according to the poll, and about half of voters still answer “not sure” when asked if they have a favorable or unfavorable opinion of each candidate.
The survey of 609 voters, conducted June 19 to June 21, had a margin of error of four percent.

well it was 16 points a few weeks ago, so it’s closing. Help’s that people see Corbett’s a nut job.

Hey, Whaaaaat, nice attempt to spin the looming Dem disaster in November. Has Onorato ever polled better than the mid thirites in any poll? Danny Boy is toast.

1994 – Pretty sure Onorato polled better than mid thirties when he won the nomination by nearly 50%.
Once ads start running, Corbett will tank. He’s a PR disaster waiting to happen. Twitter, healthcare, the 2 lawsuits… Onorato’s ad agency must be salivating.

Think of the polling done Sestak v Specter in December/January. Polling this far out is (next to) useless, when one candidate has significantly less name recognition over the other.
It’s going to be close, and I’d say Corbett has a slight edge. But he’s not over 50% yet. Give it time for the Democrats to come home. Onorato’s only drawing 57% of Democrats, versus 74% of Republicans for Corbett. That will tighten.

Hahahahah. Onorato’s never polled better than the mid thirities against Corbett. Not even after spending millions of doallars this spring introducing himself to voters. He’ll be lucky to get 45% in November, especially after the GOP carpet bombs the state with TV spots exposing his record as county executive.
Dan the Dud doesn’t have a prayer.

Corbett has all the backbone of a chocolate eclair.
When I brought to his attention that the Philadelphia Parking Authority was violating the state wiretapping law by having its employees and hired agents tape phone conversations without first notifying the other party, I was told by Corbett’s office that my legal analysis was correct but that their office had “no jurisdiction”.
Huh!! The top law enforcement official in the state has “no jurisdiction” when state law is violated??
I have hardcopy of this rather incredible response.
The real analysis is quite simple. The Philadelphia Parking Authority is the last vestige of GOP patronage within the City, and Corbett did not want to rock that boat.
Subpoenaing Twitter, ignoring illegal wire-tapping?? what constitution did Corbett swear to defend? You “tea party” types should be especially concerned about this kind of governmental intrusion if you are true to your babbling about “limited government”.

I’ll take Onorato’s record as county exec over Corbett’s record of hypocrisy and mismanagement anyday.
I can’t wait for the debates to begin so Corbett has to open his mouth and let the idiocy flow. He’s been shielded from having to openly debate to this point, but once the cameras turn on and Corbett is in front of the bright lights, he’ll fold and say something idiotic showing people just how clueless he really is.

This poll doesn’t make sense. There was a poll a few days ago on PA2010′s homepage where the vast majority picked Onorato to beat Corbett easily. How could all these people be so blind? Personally, I think PPP is a right wing poll. They’re probably racist too. I read a lot of papers here in Philadelphia…the City Paper, the Daily Worker, Revolution, and Proletariat…and all these papers show Onorato with a huge lead over Corbett. I’m not convinced that voters will turn out to fight the forces of capitalism though. Few people outside of philly are really ready for a revolution. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again…democracy simply doesn’t work.

The numbers speak for themselves: Corbett lost a third of his ground in what, two weeks?
Either nobody’s paying attention and couldn’t pick either of these guys out of a lineup of street walkers, or people are starting to perk up and are doubting Corbett’s candidacy. Unless additional polls start coming out showing him back around 16%-20%, he should be very troubled by this shift.

Not to mention that Corbett probably won’t poll well with Republicans in Philadelphia, with the way the City Republicans and State Republicans are fighting over the committee seats and the popularity of John Perzel having a negative impact on Corbet’s bid for the Northeast of the city.

Ed, I’m sure all 6 Republicans in Philadelphia will support Corbett. That city is a craphole and is probably one of the most liberal in the entire nation. It’s PA’s version of Detroit. Ewwwwwww.

People should read this poll…it’s crap. Wanna know why? It’s not Q6, which seems an awfully high percentage of self-identified “conservatives”, but rather Q5.
Who did you vote for President last year?
John McCain… 48%
Barack Obama.. 47%
Someone Else/Don’t Remember… 5%
Obama won the state by 9 points and yet among voters in this poll, he LOST it by 1.
Too Republican a sample.

DEMOCRATS FOR CORBETT
Jun 27th, 2010
Rat Boy “Dan ono”RAT”o has a surprise waiting for him this November in Philadelphia. He is going to get his balls cut in November, along with that Flowbee Queen Scott Cocklin-yes, the same Scott Cocklin that owns the overpriced Junk Barn t/a Cocklin’s Corner Barn in the inbred city of Philipsburg, PA. As the election draws closer, the electorate will realize that Ono”RAT”o is the hand picked candidate of that fat, thieving carpetbagger from New York, Ed Rendell. His point thief is none other than John Estey. Esquire Rendell’s (sic) former Chief of Staff and a close friend of Ono”RAT”o and a partner at Ballard Spahr, the official law firm for all of Pennsylvania’s tax dollars and Fat Bastard Ed’s deals. Corbett wins -many Dems in Philly hate this ticket and really cab’t wait for the opportunity to cut Ono”RAT”o’s balls and Flowbee Scott Cocklin “Central and Western PA’s Eunich. Also, check out that train wreck chief of staff Tor Michaels -man that lunatic is living in another dimension!
