Argall won’t be talking health care
HERSHEY—Congressman Tim Holden (D-17) was one of only two Democrats in Pennsylvania to vote against the newly-enacted health care law. That means Dave Argall won’t be focusing too much on health care in the months to come.
Argall, the Schuylkill County state Senator and Republican nominee against Holden, told pa2010.com on Friday that he’ll spend more time talking about other issues. The GOP is pinning its electoral hopes in large part on the political argument against the new law, but the districts in which Democratic incumbents voted against the measure are slowly emerging as the exception to the rule.
“We’ll probably focus on other issues,” Argall said before the state GOP’s summer dinner here.
“The key issue is that on Day 1, he’ll vote for Nancy Pelosi for [House] Speaker,” Argall said of Holden. “And there’s no way in hell that I’ll ever vote for Nancy Pelosi for Speaker.”

I hope if Argall ever gets to debate Holden, that Holden is asked whether he would vote for repeal.
Health care doesn’t have to be center stage, but it should be a talking point.

I hope Dave Argall focuses on his record of fiscal discipline – like when he helped orchestrate the midnight pay raise for the State Legislature.

It’s a good idea that someone who has had and will have government funded health-care for life, not bad-mouth it.
Really?

Argall won’t be talking about health care for the same reason Holden won’t be. Neither of them know squat about it.
?ARgall/Holden will be one of the most content-free races in America.

Just because health care is not discussed in this race does not mean that the results could hinge on Holden’s vote against. There are alot of his so-called base who have decided to sit on our hands this year because of that NO vote. He was concerned that Republicans vote for him, but now he needs to be concerned that Dems will not vote in this race.

Does Mr. Argall forget the result of Mr. Burns attempt to tie Mr. Critz to the Speaker? Mr. Burns lost by nationalizing the race in the sense that he was running against Nancy Pelosi rather than running against Mr. Critz.
@ BerksWoman: Even if you have a strong distaste for Mr. Holden after his no vote on health care reform do not sit on your hands this November. Please support another Democrat down ballot. We need to hold the State House if we don’t want the Rethugs to screw us on the reapportionment of Congressional districts.

no worry there TB…of course I would vote on all other races!
