Toomey to Sestak: Take a vacation

Toomey to Sestak: Take a vacation

Republican Senate nominee Pat Toomey had some congratulatory words for his Democratic opponent Joe Sestak Tuesday night, and some advice, too: Why not take a vacation?

In a video message delivered after Sestak knocked off Senator Arlen Specter, Toomey noted that he and Sestak have debated twice before, share a mutual respect for one another and can offer Pennsylvanians clear choices come November.

“We get along well with each other, we respect each other,” Toomey said. “I’m very hopeful that we’ll give Pennsylvanians the kind of honest substantive campaign they deserve in the general election.”

And with a smile spread across his face, Toomey offered Sestak “one suggestion.”

“Take a vacation!” Toomey said. “You worked really hard, you deserve, oh, four, five months off.”

Looks like the campaign started today at 6AM. Joe was out greeting commuters bright and early in Philadelphia. There’s that damn work ethic again!

Way to set the pace, Joe!

This is fantastic. PA Democrats just nominated Joe Hoeffel Sestak. He’ll get crushed in Nov. He didn’t beat Specter because of his political skills. He didn’t beat Specter because he raised more money or because he was better in the debates. Specter beat Specter. The fact of the matter is that Democrats never totally warmed up to Arlen and he was seen as a jerk that jumped ship to save his hide. Toomey will crushed Sestak. I’ve already seen two Toomey-Sestak debates and it was a joke. Sestak is out of his league. Toomey will raise more money, out debate Sestak, and is more experienced and has better political skills than Sestak. Toomey will win easily.

    Larry-

Pennsylvanians don’t do extremist candidates well. Toomey is every bit as, if not more, extremist than the voter-rejected Santorem was.

Knowing this, the Rs already have begun to paint this as a left vs. right election, in order to hide the extremism of Toomey. What Sestak has to do is expose Toomey’s record and publicize his own. The contrast will be clear: not left vs. right; but Sestak’s PA mainstream positions vs. Toomey’s far, far right agenda.

Toomey means the loss of a woman’s right to choose. Toomey means privitizing social scurity. Toomey means less regulation of those greedy, non-producing thieves on Wall Street who got us into the recent recession; so Toomey means more jobs lost. And so forth.

I was at both of those debates Toomey is about as bright as a sack of rocks, let me see vote for a former deritive trader, who helped repeal Glass-Steagal (dispite his denial at LaSalle) or a 31 year retired three star Admiral, with a real record of public service…see you in November.

Wow, how cute Pat, that’s hilarious. What a funny shyster you are.

    Larry-
Joe Sestak won in the 7th Congressional District, which is in the heart of Delaware County, which is in the heart of Republican Country. He beat a long time incumbent Curt Weldon the same way he beat Arlen Specter, work work work. You can listen to Limbaugh all day long if you want to, but if Joe was that liberal, he wouldn’t have ever won here. Not to mention that as hard as he had worked getting in office, he works just as hard when he is in office. Delaware County doesn’t have a mortgage foreclosure diversion program, but Joe’s office handles a thousand of these cases year. And he does that for every body, even my neighborhood R committee man goes to Joe when he needs something. And face it, you can wear all the tri-corner hats and tea bags you want, but it is hard to get people pissed off about reforming the financial sector; and I think you it would be easier to get a camel through the eye of a needle than to get a derivatives trader into the Senate.
