Rohrer camp looking for big donors
With the state’s Republican establishment overwhelmingly behind Attorney General Tom Corbett for governor, fundraising has been a challenge for conservative state Representative Sam Rohrer (R-Berks). So with the primary less than three week’s away, Rohrer’s campaign is hoping some folks with deep wallets will allow for a big, late-game push.
Buried deep within an e-mail this week to supporters—which included a video message from Rohrer embedded below—is a plea from senior strategist Jeff Coleman for people to be on the lookout for anyone who can write large checks. The campaign is also hoping to raise $25,000 in “grassroots contributions” by noon on Monday.
“Pennsylvania has no campaign contribution limit,” Coleman wrote in a post-script to the e-mail on Thursday. “Because Sam will not accept money from labor unions or organized gambling, we are at a sizable financial disadvantage. If you, or someone you know is able to write a check of $25,000, $50,000 or even $100,000, their help will be a major help in erasing the massive spending deficit in the closing hours of this race.”

I hope he gets the Tea Baggers support and gives Corbett a run for his money.

Ed H. Simple question, why? This career politician is a fraud. He took the 2005 pay raise which is equal to stealing out of your and my pocket, plain and simple, he stole taxpayer money. Look it up. He helped create the pension deficit during the Tom Ridge era, took the per diem every day during the 2009 budget debacle. You think he cares about his constituents? No way, it’s all the act of a career politician that doesn’t want to be ousted from office. That’s all. Not that Corbett is a better choice, in fact we have no good choices for the governor’s race this year. So sad for all of us living in this state. .

BB, you are a liar. Got it? A liar! Rohrer DID NOT take the pay raise as an unvouchered expense like many of his colleagues. Yes, he voted for it on a promise from John Perzel that his signature property tax elimination plan would finally be allowed to the floor for a vote and almost immediately began the fight for the repeal.
The pension votes were made during prosperous times when it appeared that the fund could sustain the increases. There was no indication that the economy would tank and the entire plan would crash. The forecasters who supplied the information and the overwhelming majority of the GA were just as much to blame as Rohrer.
Doesn’t want to be ousted from office? Rohrer voluntarily gave up a safe seat in the 128th to run for Governor, unlike many others and, particularly, Corbett, who can ride out his AG job if he loses.
Rohrer is far more honest and principled than Corbett and is undoubtedly a better choice, your uninformed and misleading rant notwithstanding.

Rohrer’s pay raise vote is being misrepresented. The TEA parties are backing Rohrer and that is making some in the GOP very upset, so much so that they are engaging in some very dirty politics at the local level.

Sam Roher I am a DEM and I truly tell you this, if I was a Republican I would vote for you. BUT if you truly seek to posess the office in which you run, stop playing the good-guy fuck me puppet and load your campaign pistol, I mean it isnt like your own group arent shooting the hell out of you. DO YOUR HOMEWORK FOLLOW THE FACTS EXPOSE YOUR REPUBLICAN OPPONENT LEGALLY GET HIM CHARGED OR CHARGE HIM YOURSELF FOR THE OBVIOUS CRIMINAL ACTIONS HE HAS TAKEN, AND WIN THIS RACE FOR CANADACY. As long as you all are AFRAID to touch Tom, Tom will continue to run you up the ass, and this is only a small site of things to come just look at what he would if ELECTED!!! AAAAAH

The Republican Party took my vote away from me by endorsing Corbett. They lost my vote as I am writing in Rohrer. I am tired of the parties thinking they can dictate who should be the Republican choice. If the rest of the people want to let the republicans continue to control their lives I guess that is up to them, but they better not complain about the property taxes or corruption anymore.
