New Toomey ad says November is a ‘clear choice’
Republican Senate nominee Pat Toomey hit the airwaves with the first ad of the general election Thursday, a 30-second spot that seeks to frame his November showdown against Democrat Joe Sestak as a “clear choice” between conservative and liberal.
The ad, which the campaign said would be on TV for an “indefinite period of time,” seemed to time to put at least a dent in Sestak’s momentum. Enjoying loads of free publicity after his win against Arlen Specter, Sestak has effectively seen a 30-point bump in the polls in less than five weeks.
Toomey’s new ad highlights Sestak’s vote in favor of the 2008 financial bailout, his support for health care reform and his support for trying terrorism suspects in Pennsylvania courts.
“This year,” a narrator says, “Pennsylvanians have a good clear choice.”

Very good, direct and legitimate. Toomey is sticking to the issues. For people who love to complain about negative campaigns, no problems here. Sestak may have won his primary, but he has no money at this point -Toomey is wise to jump out early and define his opponent in an issues oriented way.

I cannot believe that you are running adds already. We just finished hearing all the adds for the primary and do not care to start hearing again for the next 5 months. I was glad that you won but backoff for awhile.

It’s nice to see that Cong. Toomey is advertising on behalf of Cong. Sestak.
