GOP passion in MontCo

Talk about Republican passion in Montgomery County! I recently attended an event for Tom Corbett sponsored by the Lower Gwynedd Republican Committee. This fundraiser, held at the William Penn Inn, was like the MontCo GOP events of yore. People came out in numbers, young and of all socioeconomic backgrounds—and talking about the party and the new excitement that has been brought into the mix by some Tea Party advocates.

Present and former GOP leaders were in the room, as well as committee members, state Representative Kate Harper and state Senator Stewart Greenleaf.

The candidates for this year, as well as those lining up for next year, were working the room. The talk was all about the May 18 primary.

If the night was any inclincation, once we get past the primary, November 2 could be an excellent Election Day for Republicans.

As their numbers dwindle, only the energetic ones survive. I think it’s called fear of extinction.

Interesting that this was an Asher event in a municipality that is virtually an outcast in the Montgomery County Republican Committee. The fact that Asher and GOP turncoat Jim Matthews were welcome tells you all you need to know. Those two have done more harm to the county Republicans than any two people in history. When Onorato starts with the “Corbett Campaign Run By a Convicted Felon Who Went to Prison for Political Corruption” TV ads, that will be something to see.
