For Dent, a primary light on paid media (Updated)

Congressman Charlie Dent (R-15) isn’t expecting much of a fight from primary opponent Mat Benol—at least if his campaign’s paid media efforts are any indication.

When GOP voters go to the polls Tuesday, Dent’s campaign won’t have purchased a dime of of TV or radio time, according to campaign manager Shawn Millan. His campaign will have sent two pieces of direct mail. And a robo-call featuring Republican Pat Toomey, Dent’s predecessor who is running for Senate, will hit homes in the district on Monday.

Benol, a Tea Party activist, has little in the way of campaign resources, and Millan said the Dent campaign is ready to cruise.

“You want to run a campaign on the same level as your opponent,” Millan told pa2010.com.

Dent faces a stiffer challenge in the fall against Bethlehem Mayor John Callahan, a White House recruit who has been raising money at an impressive clip. The race is ranked No. 5 on the pa2010.com Congressional Power Rankings.

EVERY tea partier needs to turn out and vote for Benol. If nothing else, just send a message to the country that conservative principles ultimately mean more than support from a weak-kneed Republican establishment. Dent has his own message. You know what his message is? Here’s the message Dent has sent the Republican party: http://removerinos.com/DentCharlie.html
