Corbett starts with early lead, poll says
Republican Tom Corbett is starting his general election contest with Democrat Dan Onorato sporting a comfortable double-digit advantage, according to a new poll.
The Rasmussen survey released Friday showed Corbett with a 13-point lead, 49 percent to 36 percent. Ten percent of voters are still undecided and four percent prefer some other candidate. Corbett led Onorato by nine points in a poll last month, before both candidates won their respective party primaries on Tuesday.
The survey of 500 likely voters, conducted May 19, had a margin of error of 4.5 percent.

The fact that Corbett has been willing to and successfully taken on the corrupt Harrisburg culture is going to make him hard to beat. He has fought against what so many of us are sick and tired of. His actions make his words.

This is a strong start for Corbett and the GOP for the November election. Certainly the race will tighten over the next few months, but still a solid position for Republicans in a state with more registered Democrats.
The poll also shows low approval ratings for Obama and Rendell and strong opposition to the new healthcare law. Hopefully the Democrats will continue helping the GOP with their unpopular leftist agenda.

Corbett will lose this lead once the truth about his misuse of taxpayers’ funds becomes public. Another point… Corbett made a BIG mistake by attacking our First Amendment rights. He has misused his power at AG.

The Rs on this board seem to think that it is the Ds who are bashing Corbett. Well, I’m a lifelong R and I will not vote for Corbett under any circumstances. He is a liar and a bully who has no problem stomping on first amendment rights and will institute the equivalent of a police state if elected. The man is just too scary for me.
