Corbett reportedly issues subpoena over critical blog

Corbett reportedly issues subpoena over critical blog

Tom Corbett wants to know who’s behind CassablancaPA.

The state Attorney General and Republican nominee for governor has subpoenaed Twitter seeking information about accounts connected to the blog, which is fiercely and ceaselessly critical of Corbett. The blog’s tagline is “Exposing the hypocrisy of Tom Corbett.” It has repeatedly hammered Corbett on the details of his Capitol corruption probe over the years.

The blog itself reported and published the subpoena. It was also reported by the Web site Tech Crunch. The subpoena seeks “any and all subscriber information” for two Twitter accounts connected to the blog.

Corbett easily won his party’s gubernatorial primary on Tuesday.

Good start for Tom Corbett. Stamp out that pesky freedom of speech thing.

This story is disturbing, if it is all true, the media should start reporting on it extensively.

If it’s true. I don’t think even Corbett could be this dumb. Seems more like a stunt to attract attention to this blog. Which is a pretty good trick in itself, if that’s what it is.

On the other hand, if Corbett really is this dumb, PA Republican primary voters ought to ask for their votes back.

Apparently, the constitution matters to Tom Corbett, only if you’re not criticizing Tom Corbett.

Why would Tom orbett fear criticism? Is it because like the fact that he has no ideas for bringing good jobs and economy to Pennsylvania he can’t fight the criticisms off because they would require an ability to do more than prosecute politicians?

Reportedly? The subpoena is right there for all to see. Your goofy standards of journalism leave people with the impression that a grand jury subpoena may have been faked. Look at these comments. Facts are facts. Sometimes there isn’t any spin. You really should go to CasablancaPA or to TechCrunch and look at the damned subpoena. Or how about calling up Corbett’s office and ask him to deny it? Come on.

RQ – No one wants that subpoena to be real more than I do. But things like that are really easy to fake online. If it’s real, it’ll come out very soon.

As Dan Rather discovered in 2004, it’s best not to bite too soon on something like this, especially when the bait looks so delicious.

Talking about story of FBI investigating Corbett, not slap suit, is the investigation true, does anyone have hard proof of this, if so then give it to all media, especially Keith Oberman of MSNBC

So Corrupt Corbett has a problem with Freedom of Speech – oops I guess I will be locked up next.

PA Needs a Federal special prosecutor to look into Corbett and the Bonusgate shenanigans. — It was just a little too convenient that the State Republicans ALL computers were replaced – just before – the indictments began. – Did Corbett’s office tip off the State Republican to get rid of All of the Computers and Email – right before the investigation/indictments began?

And now Corbett has more potential corruption to answer for – “Corbett is a witness in a federal lawsuit that alleges Corbett fired a Attorney General’s office attorney/whistleblower who accused Corbett’s Financial Enforcement Section of awarding contracts to collection agencies that improperly cost taxpayers millions of dollars.”

Why aren’t more of the mainstream media in this state covering this story? Tom Corbett is simply not fit to be governor of this state or any state for that matter. This man is absolutely corrupt with power. If he had any decency, which he does not, he would withdraw from the race now and let someone else run from his party. All Pa. residents deserve better than Tom Corbett as AG, let along running for gov. An absolute travesty.

First of all, this is a classic abuse of power case. Second of all, he is wasting thousands of tax-payer dollars on looking for people who are criticizing him. The Republicans want to shut down free speech entirely, just another step by them to dismantle the Constitution.

Doesn’t surprise me that Corbett would do this. He doesn’t like anyone critizing him…one reason why he backed off debating Sam. Did not vote for Corbett and I’m upset with the State Committee that this is the candidate they’ve given us for the fall election. Hopefully this Republican nominee doesn’t look too bad when he goes to trial in August, or it’s going to make the party look bad again. Thanks Rob Gleason for someone we can be proud of…NOT!

This story has been all over the news and the Atty Gen said that he could not comment about something that is before the Grand Jury. An odd story.

It’s not the only story out there. He also went after a critic physically on Monday. Check out the story on the blog post. http://www.dailykos.com/story/2010/5/19/867900/-Is-Tom-Corbett-losing-it-Thin-skinned-AG-going-after-critics.

This just screwed up. SO far his campaign has been about changing Harrisburg. Well he is already in Harrisburg, why not get to work now!? Second problem with Mr. Corbett, his campaign has also just been one political stunt after another. First he uses his office to sue the federal government over the health care bill. Why? To fire up the base and score some political points. Now he’s suing Twitter because a few people disagree with him? Sheesh. Grow a set. It’s politics and if you sued everyone who doesn’t support you, you’d have no time to work on actual problems. This is not the man we need as our next governor.

  18. Corbett is one Big Pussy

    May 20th, 2010

We Don’t need a Governor Who uses the Power and accoutrements of his office to assault People Remember you dont have to be touched to be assaulted you just have to fear that you are in imminent fear of Personal Bodily Injury

Tom the judge and jury is a no good, self serving person who should be defeated big time, he should resign as AG. All he wants to do is put good people in jail. We have to defeat this nogood.

  20. Corbett Has To be using some State Dollars To Campaign at the Very Least His Driver should reimburse the State for the Time he is Driving for Campaign activities

    May 20th, 2010

That Cell Phone that the State Pays for Im sure Corbett has taken and or made Campaign calls on it Im sure he has made and Taken Campaign calls while it State Paid for Office so why shouldnt he be in the Next Jail Cell to Mike Veon . It is simply Impossible to totally separate State Paid For goodies while on a Statewide Campaign The US Attorney should prosecute Corbett For Using State Dollars while on the Campaign Trail By The way There are a hell of a lot of Crimes going on around that State shouldnt he be prosecuting People instead of Prosecuting Political Campaign Companies in Easton Come On Tom Quit The AG’s office since you are campaigning full time
