Corbett comfortably sitting on $3.7M
Already looking forward to the general election, Republican gubernatorial candidate Tom Corbett looks poised to have a big head start in the money race against whichever Democrat he faces.
With all four Democrats emptying their campaign coffers to win the party’s nomination, Corbett spent about the same amount in one month as candidates like Dan Onorato and Anthony Williams are spending weekly. The state Attorney General and presumptive GOP nominee raised almost $920,000 over the four weeks ending Tuesday, and finished the period with more than $3.7 million in cash on hand, according to state campaign finance data.
As usual, Corbett was rolling in money from corporate political action committees. In the midst of a relatively small statewide media buy, he spent more than half-a-million dollars on TV advertising during the period, but was expect to spend more leading up to the May 18 primary.
His primary opponent Sam Rohrer had just $15,000 in the bank as of Tuesday.

Tom’s message is right on-point for Pennsylvania. How anyone could doubt his sincerity for wanting to reform Harrisburg and restore fiscal responsibility and accountability to state government is beyond me. The man is already acting on those beliefs, not just talking about them.
Sam Rohrer did a good job of tapping into Tea Party activism. His campaign about truth and honesty also resonated with many people. His biggest problem was the Republican establishment picked a solid, trustworthy candidate in this cycle, and that took a lot of wind out of his anti-establishment rhetoric.
Tom has treated Sam with respect throughout this campaign. I look forward to Sam throwing his support behind Tom so Pennsylvania wins in November.

One odd note — the state website lists a contribution to Corbett from Constantine Papadakis on 3/29/2010. Unfortunately Papadakis died in April, 2009. Not sure if this is an error on the state page or in Corbett’s reports.

Sorry, but anyone who believes the constitution is a “living document” is NOT right for me. Sam Rohrer all the way!

We need right to work. We need Tom Corbett.
We need spending caps. We need Tom Corbett.
