Cawley wants ad removed (Updated)

Cawley wants ad removed (Updated)

Bucks County Commissioner Jim Cawley wants a TV ad by one of his Republican rivals for Lieutenant Governor taken down.

A lawyer for Cawley, the party’s endorsed candidate for the office, wrote to former Lancaster GOP chairman Chet Beiler requesting the removal of the ad, citing Beiler’s reported acknowledgment that the woman in the spot complaining about property taxes in Cawley’s county is a paid actress, PoliticsPA reports.

“Your continued dissemination of this video … taints the election process and insults the electors of the commonwealth by creating an intentionally and deliberately false impression in an effort to secure your selfish political motives, for which you may be liable,” the letter from Cawley’s lawyer said. “Your conduct is not befitting a candidate for state office and you do not deserve the trust of the electorate.”

UPDATE: A copy of the letter from Cawley’s campaign lawyer.

UPDATE: PoliticsPA reports that Beiler’s campaign won’t remove the ad.

How sad. Jim Cawley, the union-backed, handpicked candidate of convicted felon candyman Bob Asher is reduced to whining about a TV ad. Almost feel bad for the poor little hack.
