Williams hits the airwaves

Democrat Anthony Williams became the second gubernatorial candidate to hit the airwaves with TV ads Wednesday, with two similar 30-second spots emphasizing his record on education and crime.

For Williams, the ad buy capped an extraordinarily fast start to his gubernatorial campaign, which only started earlier this year but has been fueled by large contributions from school choice advocates. Primary rival Dan Onorato started advertising last week.

Democratic operatives familiar with the ad buy said it included airtime throughout the state, with the exception of the expensive Philadelphia media market. Estimates of the cost of the ad buy were in the range of $300,000.

He’s airing an ad about gun control everywhere BUT Philadelphia, the only part of the state that isn’t militantly pro-gun? His media consultants should be fired.

Will Silent Sestak be the last major candidate to run ads?

Great television spot. It’s about time someone talked about making our streets safer and protecting our children from guns.

    Keep up the fight Tony!

Great TV Spot, this is the kind of reform PA needs, smarter gun laws, not stricter….I think whoever these media consultants are did a fantastic job, I don’t really understand what “Adam” is talking about

It is a giant leap of faith to imagine Sestak to be a serious candidate by now
