No Arlen Specter? Oh well Toomey will be there, and one repub is as good as another. It wouldn’t really be fair for Joe Sestak to have to debate two repubs at the same time. Guess Arlen doesn’t want to appear where his record would come under scrutiny. Toomey and Sestak aren’t the only one’s who share a political disdain for Specter (R)

Healy: Senator Specter’s war chest is larger than that of Toomey and Representative Sestak COMBINED. Perhaps the “disdain” is not as prevalent as you wish to believe.

Nioe the disdain of the democratic voters who have voted against Republican Specter for the past 30 years is all to apparent to anyone who has spent more than 10 minutes on the phone with them.

    Bill-
There are plenty of Democrats who have been voting for Specter all these years (sometimes in secret, and sometimes not-so-secret).
Which candidate is going to get over 85% of the suburban PA Jewish vote? I’ll give you one guess and a hint.
    (hint: it’s not Sestak).

BTW, do you mind disclosing your connection to the Sestak campaign?

Bill is right– all of us who volunteer for Sestak every week are talking to Dems all over PA. Many I’ve talked to say “anybody but Specter”
And Sestak isn’t just anybody– he’s outstanding as a congressman, as a retired admiral, and as a person of integrity.

    Angel-
“anybody but Specter” is hardly a ringing endorsement of Sestak.

Exactly what has he accomplished as an “outstanding” congressman? Are the citizens of the 7th district better off now than before he was elected? NO. He was a disgrace as an admiral – “hostile work environment.” And “integrity?” Don’t even get me started! The man simply has no integrity.

Thankfully Sestak will soon be unemployed.

Anybody but Specter from rank and file, vote every election Democrats is not exactly a ringing endorsement of Specter.BTW how do you think the 7th district was better served by the repubs? You make quite a DINO.

That’s one of the biggest fallacies in politics – Toomey says people that he’s talked to all over the state agree with him, you guys are saying people you’ve talked to all over the state agree with you – WELL NO FREAKING DUH!

You and Toomey are talking to people who support your own ideas, OF COURSE you’re going to find them all over the state. Hell, I’ll bet you could find some Klansmen who go around the state and find plenty of people who agree with them. That doesn’t make their opinion any less of a minority. You could call that a sample of convenience – it’s not anywhere close to an actual, scientific representation of the thoughts and opinions of Pennsylvanians as a whole. That’s why we have polling.

    End rant.

And, anecdotally speaking, I’ve met plenty of rank and file Democrats who always liked Specter and voted for him in the past. He’s a very moderate candidate in a traditionally moderate state. To say that pro-Specter Dems are an insignificant minority is just as ridiculous as saying anti-Specter Dems are an insignificant minority. The polls find Specter well ahead in the primary, but there are plenty of undecideds and we’ll find out in May.

    Bill-
Thanks for coming clean. It’s good to distinguish the people working on the campaign from regular voters.

As for the 7th, Sestak’s done more for himself, his family and friends than the 7th.

    Angel-
I’m pretty certain that for the Navy, they prefer Sestak as a “retired” Admiral than an active one, abusing the men under his command. I know I’ll prefer Sestak a “retired” politician. As for integrity, he has none. Someday, you may figure that out.
