Rep. DePasquale and Mayor Bracey Endorse Dan Onorato for Governor

By ONORATO FOR GOVERNOR

YORK:  Today, State Representative Eugene DePasquale and York Mayor Kim Bracey announced their support for Dan Onorato as the next Governor of Pennsylvania today.  The endorsement adds to the growing list of support Onorato has received from leaders at both the community and statewide level.

“Dan Onorato has shown that he knows how to successfully lead a large region,” said DePasquale.  “Pennsylvania needs a leader who is experienced and has a comprehensive plan for the future, and Dan Onorato is that leader.”

“As someone familiar with the challenges small communities face, I know what Dan Onorato has done in Allegheny County and it is exactly what we need to do statewide,” said Mayor Bracey.  “No other candidate has the experience and ideas to bring jobs back to the citizens of Pennsylvania.”

Speaking from the steps of York City Hall, Onorato touted his plan to spur economic growth and create jobs across Pennsylvania.

“I am proud to have the endorsements of two excellent leaders who understand the problems facing our state and share my belief that we can bring real reform to Pennsylvania and make our state a leader in the 21st-century economy,” Onorato said.  “As Governor, I look forward to working with both Rep. DePasquale and Mayor Bracey to bring quality jobs to York County and to all of Pennsylvania.”

Dan Onorato’s plan to grow the economy and strengthen our communities includes:
Establishing a business climate where businesses can succeed;
Strengthening Pennsylvania’s downtowns and residential neighborhoods;
Encouraging entrepreneurship and innovation;
Protecting taxpayers and making government more efficient and effective; and
Ensuring that Pennsylvania’s workforce is prepared for and able to access high-skill, well-paying jobs.

“Dan Onorato has the experience that shows he can help create jobs, make tough decisions, and streamline government to make it more efficient,” said DePasquale.  “Each of these skills will be needed by our next Governor, and Dan Onorato has shown he can deliver.”

Onorato is the only candidate who has experience managing a government.  As County Executive of Allegheny County, the state’s second largest, Onorato helped streamline county government and spur economic development in the region.

In supporting Onorato, Rep. DePasquale and Mayor Bracey join a growing list of supporters from across the state.  Onorato has been endorsed by a number of elected officials including a dozen southwestern Pennsylvania county commissioners, Luzerne County Commissioner Maryanne Petrilla, Allentown Mayor Ed Pawlowski, Easton Mayor Salvatore J. Panto, Jr., State Representatives Mike Gerber and Tony Payton, Jr., State Senators Daylin Leach and Andy Dinniman and Congressmen Mike Doyle and Patrick Murphy.  Onorato has also won major statewide labor endorsements, including the Pennsylvania State Education Association, United Steelworkers and the Pennsylvania Conference of Teamsters, as well as several locals.
