Doyle endorses Onorato in guv race
Congressman Mike Doyle (D-14) endorsed Allegheny County Executive Dan Onorato for governor Monday, giving the Democratic front-runner another high-profile supporter five weeks before primary day.
Doyle is a fellow western Pennsylvanian. The announcement of his support seemed timed to coincide with Bob Brady’s endorsement of state Senator Anthony Williams (D-Philadelphia), who is emerging as one of the most serious threats to Onorato’s long bid to secure the party’s nomination.
“Dan Onorato has been a great asset to Allegheny County, and he is the only candidate for Governor with the leadership experience our state needs,” Doyle said in a statement. “He has worked hard to reform government and transform Allegheny County into a hub for business development and good-paying jobs.”

Allegheny County lost 20,000 jobs last year alone. There are fewer jobs today than the year before Dan took over as County Executive. Doyle has to stop reading press releases and start looking at facts. Drink Tax Dan and his friends at the Duquesne Club with their $600 million one mile tunnel to nowhere have been a disaster for Allegheny County. I guess Doyle is getting some of that contract love from Dan the Tax Man.
