Breaking news—immodestly dressed women cause earthquakes!

Iranian cleric Hojatoleslam Kazem Sedighi has announced that he has discovered the reason for the apparent spate of earthquakes witnessed by the world of late.

His explanation? Women who do not dress modestly.

He has seen—firsthand, no doubt—how these immodest women “lead young men astray, corrupt their chastity and spread adultery in society,” all of which, according to the cleric, “increases earthquakes.” Further, if Iranians do not “take refuge in religion” and “adapt our lives to Islam’s moral codes,” they should expect to be “buried under the rubble.”

Hmmm…

Now where have I heard that kind of drivel before?
