Both parties keep up the 12th District push

The 12th Congressional District continues to be a hub where national party money is landing.

Both parties’ congressional campaign arms last week continued their independent expenditures ahead of next month’s special election to finish out the late John Murtha’s term. The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee spent more than $160,000 on TV ad buys last week on behalf of its candidate, Mark Critz, according to campaign finance data.

The National Republican Congressional Committee spent even more, racking up about $235,000 in independent expenditures for media on behalf of Republican Tim Burns, according to campaign finance data.

Both parties have been on the air for a couple weeks in the western Pennsylvania district, and both have poured tens of thousands of dollars into the race.

Both candidates are also airing their own ads.

We have searched Burns divorce records and found that the court has sealed Burn’s divorce. Understandably, some people like to keep their private lives separate from their public lives. But we don’t want a repeat of a Sanford, or John Edwards or even Newt Gingrich. Come clean Burns. We don’t want any voters remorse in the 12th District.

We as conservatives hope that the GOP and the NRCC won’t continue to bank roll Burns an alleged adulterer.
