Thoughts on ballot challenges

There are a lot of them out there, and you can view the updated list here.

I’ve been keeping a close eye on Bryan Lentz’s fight against Pat Meehan’s signatures in the 7th District. If this doesn’t go anywhere (as in, actually knocking Meehan off the ballot), it really doesn’t help Lentz in the long run. I wonder if it truly a good use of his time.

Finally, Joe Vodvarka seems to be holding onto his ballot position. I think he clearly takes a few away votes from Joe Sestak rather than Arlen Specter, but that is an odd situation. Joe Penachio and Alan Sandals ran in much the same way against Bob Casey in the 2006 primary, but from the opposite side. However, with a stronger candidate with a message closer to his in the race, I doubt he will truly make a difference.
