Murphy gets an F

No wonder why Bucks County residents are concerned with tax-and-spend issues. They need look no further than their representative, Congressman Patrick Murphy (D-8). [Disclosure: I'm working for Republican Mike Fitzpatrick, one of Murphy's potential opponents.]

The Bucks County Courier Times reports that The National Taxpayers Union sent an interesting message to Murphy—you flunked. The NTU is a fiscal watchdog group that includes every roll call vote regarding fiscal policy, appropriations, authorization and tax bills, budget target resolutions, amendments, and certain regulatory or procedural votes that could affect taxpayers

Despite the fact that Murphy is touting his bipartisan plan to end the Market Access Program that could save taxpayers $2 billion over 10 years, as well as his December bill to reduce waste, fraud and abuse in federal agencies, the NTU gave him an F.

Since Murphy is a member of the Blue Dog Democrats, which is a fiscally-conservative group of Washington Democrats, why did he fail? The proof is in the pudding, and when you get a failure from a fiscal organization like the National Taxpayers Union, you have some explaining to do to.

    Beth,

Can you please comment on Mike Fitzpatricks D report card from the NTU in 2006?
